Pushchair cosytoe

Sometimes it' s sunny, sometimes windy, and at times rainy - the weather can be freakish and can change very quickly. In such conditions it is always good to have something to protect the child from adverse weather conditions. A pushchair cosytoe is a good solution, which will tightly muffle the baby up and protect them against cold and drizzle.

When is it worth buying a pushchair cosytoe?

In general, baby cosytoes work best for strollers. Earlier, when the baby travels in a carrycot, it may turn out that a well-tied wrap, a proper winter suit or a blanket will suffice. Besides, carrycots use slightly different cosy toes, specially designed for this type of baby pushchairs. Therefore, some people believe that it is best to buy a classic cosytoe only before the first winter, during which the baby will travel in a stroller

There are also parents who decide to include a cosytoe in the newborn layette. It also makes sense, because you buy the cosytoe right along with the pushchair and you always have it at hand if the situation, or rather the weather, requires its use. Bear in mind, however, that the price of a good baby cosytoe can be as high as  PLN 700. So it is quite a big expense. So the question is whether it is a good solution to invest in equipment which will be used only after some time.

Why is a cosytoe so important?

Cosytoes have many advantages that make them perform much better than other forms of protecting children from cold. First of all, good cosytoes are made of materials that regulate temperature. Thanks to that you can be sure that you will neither overheat nor chill your baby. Another advantage of cosytoes for children is that they are resistant to various weather conditions. They are waterproof, protect from wind and give a sense of safety and comfort, because the little ones are nicely wrapped in them. They prove especially useful for those children who tend to squirm - a fastened cosytoe effectively prevents them from squirming, all the time providing adequate protection against cold. The practicality of  cosytoes is worth mentioning - they are easy to unfasten and fasten, easy to clean, and the unfastened bottom makes it possible to take off baby’s dirty shoes.

Pushchair sleeping bags for autumn and spring

Pushchair cosytoes are basically divided into autumn-spring and winter ones. It is easy to guess what the difference is: the former will be thinner, and the latter thicker and additionally insulated from the inside. On the market you will also find such models which will provide proper warming both in the transitional season and on colder days. It is all thanks to the proper detachable layers, which can additionally muffle your little ones up. Non-allergenic, machine-washable fleece is the most commonly used insulator in autumn and spring cosytoes. Due to the specificity of Polish weather it is best to buy a cosytoe model which also provides protection against rain. A form of a cosytoe for autumn and spring which provides good protection against wind and drizzle is a special leg warmer attached to a baby pushchair- you can find it in Kinderkraft 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 baby pushchairs, for example in EVOLUTION COCOON.

Since the weather may be unpredictable and unfriendly, a cosytoe may not be enough. It is important to use accessories offered by the manufacturer, such as a rain cover or a sunshade, e.g. in a set attached to the EVERYDAY baby pushchair. A deep hood, both waterproof and equipped with UPF50+ filter, e.g. in our PRIME pushchair, is also a great convenience. Don't forget that pushchairs should also be suitable for hot weather - the nets in the hood will provide relief, allowing ventilation.

Winter cosytoe

Children's winter cosytoes must provide good protection from cold, cold wind and rain. They are of course better insulated than those designed for transitional seasons and are made of waterproof materials on the outside. They are often additionally equipped with fur sewn around the hood. They can be used both in carrycots and in strollers. When buying a cosytoe for an older child, it is worth choosing a slightly larger size, so that it can serve as additional protection in the future, for example on a sled, or an extended model.

Cosytoe sizes and harness adjustments

Cosytoes come in different sizes, but there are also cosytoes in a universal size, which are suitable for every child. They are the best choice if you plan to use a cosytoe with your child from birth to 2 or 3 years of age. When buying such a model you should pay attention to whether it has appropriately regulated places for the harness, as it has to fit both the buckles in the baby carrier and in the stroller. Additional holes also allow to regulate the slack of the harness, which should guarantee more freedom of movement for an older child. Universal cosytoes usually measure 110 centimeters, there are also cosytoes that consist of a 90 centimeter cosytoe and a 20 centimeter attachment, which allows the product to be extended at any time.

Manufacturers also offer baby cosytoes in specific sizes - suitable for carrycots, strollers and sleds. Buying equipment adapted to the height of the child has its undeniable advantages. With a well-fitted cosytoe you can be sure that it does not limit the movements of the child, simply being too tight. When it does, the child is simply uncomfortable and it can sweat as well. On the other hand, cosytoes that are too big may not fit into carrycots.

The right choice of sleeping bag for the pushchair

When you decide to buy a baby cosytoe it is essential to match it to the pushchair. Whether you choose a smaller cosytoe for the carrycot or a larger one for the stroller. Some pushchairs manufacturers include a range of baby covers, such as our COCOON leg warmer, including cosytoes. When you buy such a set you can be sure that the cosytoe will fit the baby pushchair well and that the position of the harness will be proper in relation to the holes in the cosytoe.

Remember that some cosytoes for babies are only suitable for strollers or only for carrycots. In such a case you will not be able to use them with another type of a baby pushchair. This can be particularly problematic when the baby has outgrown a baby carriage and the cosytoe is still suitable for them. In this situation, unfortunately, we will not be able to use it in a stroller - when we change the pushchair, we will have to change the cosytoe for a bigger one, too.

A baby cosytoe is a functional and comfortable solution during colder days. It provides adequate protection and at the same time is pleasant for the baby's sensitive skin. Thanks to it every walk will be successful - regardless of the weather!
